Our curriculum aims to nurture tomorrow’s leaders in the Muslim ummah by utilizing the benefits of the boarding school experience through:

Islamic Curriculum

  • The purpose of our Islamic curriculum is to strengthen the iman (faith) and Muslim identity of our students,
  • We have been continuously collaborating with other Islamic Schools and institutions to develop & improve our Islamic curriculum.
  • It will be modified based on the students’ needs.
  • Our Islamic curriculum follows the teachings of 4 main Sunni madhabs.
  • The following courses will be taught during the 2024-2025 school year:
    • Qur’an and Tafsir
    • Aqidah
    • Fiqh
    • Hadith
    • Arabic
  • We will also utilize the Yaqeen Institute Curriculum. The special features of the Yaqeen Institute Curriculum are as follows:
    • Teacher-developed and scholar-approved unit plans
    • An engaging framework
    • An interactive approach
    • An empowering understanding of Islam
  • Learning by doing: Engaging in hands-on experiences like Service-based learning and peer mentoring fosters a profound understanding of Islamic concepts among students through active participation and practical application.
  • We provide a safe space for our students to discuss, learn, and ask questions.
  • Real-life implementation and religious immersion through our unique boarding school method is a unique opportunity.
  • Participating in congregational prayers five times a day helps our students put the religious teachings into practice as the Prophet (saw) stated: “Praying in congregation is twenty-five times better than praying alone.”
  • Engaging in short lectures after Fajr and Isha’ prayers will offer students valuable learning experiences, creating a conducive environment for acquiring knowledge and reflection.
  • Regular access to residential religious mentors will provide invaluable support and guidance, fostering a positive and nurturing environment for students to deepen their understanding of Islamic principles and values.
  • Being surrounded by like-minded individuals will cultivate a positive peer environment, encouraging our students to thrive under constructive influences and empowering them to emerge as future leaders in our Islamic society.
  • Providing an environment away from haram will minimize the impact of external influences, safeguarding our students and fostering a space conducive to their moral and spiritual development.

Academic Excellence

  • Our goal is to cultivate a rich campus atmosphere, empowering students to realize their full potential through a synergistic blend of traditional and computer-based online learning approaches.
  • Arizona State University Partnership: We leverage Arizona State University Digital Prep to apply ASU’s renowned computer-based prep curriculum, offering each student access to a dedicated portal customized to their grade level. We also utilize Khan Academy
  • We’ve enhanced the ASU and Khan Academy curriculum with real-life experiences, STEM-focused experiments, and projects.
  • Our experienced teachers closely monitor students’ progress and assist when needed to ensure that they complete and master their assigned subjects within the designated time frame.
  • Our school employs self-paced personalized instruction to cater to the individual learning needs and strengths of each student. Every student at our school has a personalized individual development plan to guide their academic and personal growth.
  • The power of our unique 3M Model (Mentor, Monitor, and Motivate) lies in its ability to provide comprehensive support, guidance, and motivation to each student on their educational journey.
  • As students engage in their studies, they have the additional support of AI Technologies to address any immediate questions or concerns.
  • We provide a variety of Dual-Credit and Advanced Placement (AP) courses to offer students opportunities for advanced learning and college credit.
  • We offer diverse elective courses aligned with various Career Pathways to help students explore and pursue their specific academic and professional interests.

  • Most Prestigious Colleges: Our goal is to guide students toward acceptance into the most prestigious colleges, supporting them in achieving academic excellence and realizing their full potential.
  • Expected SAT average – 1300 
  • Students who participated in a recent four-day SAT Camp showed a 30-point increase in their SAT math scores.
  • We are in the process of accreditation by Cognia, showcasing our commitment to academic excellence.

Entrepreneurship

  • At The Lighthouse Schools, entrepreneurship takes center stage. Every student must own and run a business before graduation, OR identify a pressing need in the community and run a project with the intention of solving the problem.
  • We are thrilled to announce our partnership with INCubatoredu®, expanding avenues for innovative education.
